Blue flutter butterflies sgraffito vessel

Inspiration for this piece was taken from a group of stylised butterflies flying together in what’s called a flutter

Every unique design has been created by hand with love, care and attention to detail.
This piece has been thrown on the wheel, left to slightly dry and then goes through many different techniques using drawing, carving, clay slips and sgraffito to create the intricate designs onto the damp clay surface.

Each piece takes many hours and no two will ever look the same.

Once completed these are left to dry for a few weeks and fired twice in an electric kiln and I have chosen to leave this piece matt and to place a tiny amount of blue slip inside the neck.

Please be aware this vessel will not hold water.

This piece measures 10cm high/ 5cm wide/ foot 2cm/ weight 97 grams
